Biography:  I am a holder of a BA (Economics and Geography) Hons. Degree and an MSc. Degree in Development Policy and Planning. I have worked as a Development Planning Officer of a District Assembly in Ghana, As a Senior Programme Officer of Environmental Protection Agency and currently a Senior Advisor of SNV (Netherlands Development Organisation) Ghana. My areas of interest include research and programmes in areas as environmental impact assessment, poverty and empowerment, participatory learning action, rural and urban development and governance. As an advisor for SNV, I am currently engaged in working with meso-level organisations. My area is Responsible and Accountable Local Governance. I have been assisting in capacity building of District Assemblies and other related stakeholders in local governance. Currently my activities include; providing advisory services in the preparation of medium-term development plans for one District Assembly and one Metropolitan Assembly in Ghana. I am also co-ordinating the MDGs localisation project in a District Assembly. I have also been involved in resource mobilisation and the preparation of a medium-term waste management plan for a District Assembly. I believe that if people are given the necessary resources and capacity to utilise the resources in a participatory and good governance environment, they would be empowered to engage in development oriented activities. These should however be done under the broad concept of sustainable development.
