Domestic and public lighting
Describe
existing domestic and public lighting facilities in the project
area.
How
do people light their homes, inside and outside? Describe each means of lighting
used, the number of hours each day these means are used, the type of fuel used,
the amount of fuel used, and the cost of the fuel used.
Give
an estimate of the average total monthly family expenditure for lighting. How
much is this expressed as a percentage of their total usable
income?
Under
the project:
Users
(especially women) may obtain micro-credit loans if they need PV lighting
systems to increase their productivity in the evening.
Families
later able to pay for their own PV Home Systems will do so individually under a
cooperative purchasing scheme operated by the Cooperative Local Development Bank
set up as part of the project.
Lighting for study purposes is
provided under the project.
Have the people in the project
area expressed any specific requirements with regard to public lighting
facilities? What are the purposes of these facilities? How important are they to
the people in the project area?
